Why should I have my trash bins professionally cleaned?

Just using a hose and bleach to clean your trash and recycle bins is not sufficient to remove or kill the bacteria and diseases that breed in your bins.Regular cleanings effectively eliminate these odors and bacteria that are commonly found in trash cans. Also, why would you want to do the dirty work when Trash Can Cleaning of Iowa will do it for you!


Sometimes I take my trash bins in early. How will they be cleaned?

We ask that you leave your bins at your curbside. Once they are cleaned, we will place them right in front of your garage. We try to have all bins cleaned by 5:30PM.


When do you come to service my recycling bins and trash cans?

Trash pick up days that are Monday through Thursday will be serviced the following day (next day service) If your trash pick up day is Friday your bins will be cleaned Friday afternoon, please leave bins out till 8PM to ensure we have time to service all clients.


Is there a minimum amount of months to which I have to commit to services?

Yes. For monthly there is a minimum of nine (9) cleanings, Quarterly customers there is a four (4) cleaning minimum and Semi Annual Customers there is a two (2) minimum cleaning.


Do my bins need to be empty to receive service?

Yes, if we come to service your trash bins and they are not empty, we will have to come back at a later time. When you sign up for services we ask you to give us a close estimated time of pickup, we base all of our routes off this information.


How do I know when and what time my trash is picked up?

Your sanitation provider (e.g. Waste Management, Ankeny Sanitation etc.) can provide you with this information.

How often should my trash and recycle bins be cleaned?

The majority of our customers choose monthly cleanings, but we have many different options that can fit anyone’s preferences and budget.

Can I pay for someone else service?

Absolutely, Trash Can Cleaning of Iowa is a perfect gift!


Can you clean trash cans year around?

Unfortunately, we do not clean trash and recycle bins year around. We start and shut down when temperatures are constantly below 28 degrees. We typically clean from March to December, but every year is different. 


How do I know if my trash cans have been cleaned?

You will definitely be able to tell when we have serviced your bins. But if your bins are still on the curb where you leave them for sanitation pick up then we probably have not been by. If they have been moved in front of your garage or placed on the side of your driveway (typically for people with unusually long driveways) then we have been by! All routes are GPS and timestamped, if you have any questions or concerns about when we stopped at your residence please reach out and we can supply you with this information.

I have regular service and I have been charged but my bins have not been cleaned?

We charge 100 percent of your service cost as a service fee for any bins that were taken inside before we could clean them or if they were still full of trash (Next day service) We send out emails and texts one day before your service to remind you we are coming by. Coming to your residence costs us money, we need to be able to preform our job in a timely manner with the least amount of trips possible in order to keep our costs down which in returns keeps our prices for our customers low!  


Do  I have to have a credit card on file?

Yes, For any regular maintenance cleaning (monthly, quarterly, semi annual and annual) credit cards are required to be on file. If your card is declined we will send you an invoice via text and email where you can pay with the link provided. You may also save your new card to your account at the same time. A Service Late Fee of $1.00 will be applied for every one day the invoice is not paid.
